Here's everything we know so far about Attack on Titan season 4, part 2. When Eren Yaeger stood upon the edge of the ocean and declared war on the world beyond in Attack on Titan season 3's final moments, viewers were simultaneously excited and concerned - excited at the prospect of mammoth battles to come, but concerned about the ungodly amount of manga material still to cram in. Attack on Titan season 4 had more chapters to adapt than any previous run, and with the anime mirroring the pacing of the comics, 16 episodes didn't seem anywhere near enough.

Attack on Titan season 4's "Above & Below" ends on a huge cliffhanger. Retaliating after the attack on Liberio, Marley begins its counter, with Pieck tricking Eren onto a rooftop and Porco (concealed among Eren's soldiers) smashing up through the floor below. Reiner and the Marley warriors arrive soon after in airships, while the Survey Corps remain locked helplessly in a cell. Elsewhere, Floch is still following Hange to Zeke's location, not knowing that the Beast Titan was caught in a fiery blast alongside Levi, and is now occupying the cosy insides of a Titan's stomach.

Attack On Titan Season 4 Is The Final Season

War Hammer Titan in Attack On Titan

Several weeks prior to Attack on Titan season 4's announced March 29th finale, fans were left wondering how the anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama's epic manga would conclude. Miles away from the comic's ending, Attack on Titan was either going to botch its way toward an anime-original finale, continue via a movie, or add more episodes. Thankfully, MAPPA confirmed at the end of "Above & Below" that Attack on Titan season 4, part 2 is in the works.

Attack on Titan season 4, part 1 roughly covers chapters #91-116. This leaves part 2 with #117-139, suggesting 13 or so episodes still to come, based on the current rate. The official count is yet to be disclosed.

Attack On Titan Season 4, Part 2 Release Date

Zeke in Attack on Titan

The teaser trailer for Attack on Titan season 4, part 2 revealed that the next episode ("Judgement") would be coming in Winter 2022. While the announcement might panic western viewers into thinking Attack on Titan won't resume until the end of 2022, the Japanese winter TV season traditionally runs from January to March, meaning Attack on Titan season 4 will continue in early 2022. Given that Attack on Titan season 4, part 1 premiered in December 2020, part 2 could arrive closer to the New Year than spring 2022.

Attack On Titan Season 4, Part 2 Story Details

Eren in Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan manga readers will know exactly what to expect from the final batch of episodes. Without giving away spoilers, the mid-season finale sets up a rematch between Eren and Reiner, as the forces from Marley clash with Eren's faction in Shiganshina. Attack on Titan still needs to reveal Levi's fate, and explain what on Earth's happening with Zeke in the stomach of a Titan. It's inevitable that Eren will eventually unlock the full power of the Founding Titan, with or without his brother, and only then will his true intentions be revealed. Is Eren Yaeger really an irredeemable villain, or does he hide an ulterior motive?

The Attack on Titan anime still hasn't explained how the Titan power originated, and the Survey Corps can't be locked up forever either. Expect Mikasa, Jean, Armin and the others to go out in style, while Historia's child could also spring a late surprise. Ultimately, Attack on Titan season 4, part 2 must reveal the future of the world when the war between Eldia and Marley is done. Will there be peace? Will one side emerge victorious? Or will nothing be left standing at all?
